Brace yourselves, Line Of Duty fans as an exciting stunt is on the way in the hotly-anticipated sixth season.

Showrunner Jed Mercurio has shared a number of images teasing dramatic scenes ahead involving a mysterious white van flipping on its side.

‘Huge respect to our stunts team led by Donal O’Farrell featuring ace stunt drivers Steph Carey and Dave Anders,’ Mercurio wrote.

‘It’s easy for me to write “van rolls” – they make it happen.

‘Steph doubled for Keeley Hawes in S2 and hardcore LoD fans will recognise Dave from S4 …’

Martin Compston also sang the stunt team’s praises, and in a separate tweet, penned: ‘They’re top class, Dave showed Arnott the quickest way down 4 flights of stairs.’

Fans were delighted by the teaser, however many are now concerned for Steve Arnott’s safety.

‘Now you’ve got me trying to impossibly guess the plot of why the van rolls,’ wrote one.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘Anyone else scared for Steve right now?’

‘I have a bad feeling that Steve’s going to be in that van,’ a third added.

Is Steve somehow in the van? Should we be worried? Only time can tell…

Line Of Duty season six resumed production earlier this month after it was originally halted due to the coronavirus pandemic in March.

Mercurio enthused: ‘We know Line of Duty fans are desperate for series 6 and we hope we can get it on air as soon as possible. Thanks so much for your patience in these difficult times.’

The cast also expressed their excitement to be back in the midst of it all.

Compston gushed: ‘It’s been a long few months and it will be a different way of working from when we stopped, but I’m delighted to be back on the case with the Line of Duty team!’

Roll on season six, we say!

Line Of Duty is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
